In 1840 the City of Toronto was very much different than it is today. The major street was King Street East. There wasn’t much development west of Yonge Street because of a malaria swamp and their was a pub or a bank on every corner
We'll meet at Union Station, York Street side at 10:00 am. Bring your bike on theGO train or subway or bike to the starting point. We'll bike along mostly quiet streets on bike lanes and bike paths through Toronto's downtown neighbourhoods. Depending on the weather and speed of the participants we could include the following locations in the trip:
Union Station, Grand Opera House, Osgoode Hall, Campbell House, Allan’s Gardens, University of Toronto, Toronto’s first Post Office, Queen's Park, Riverdale Farm, Distillery District
