The Hamilton, Brantford, Grand River region is near Toronto. You can take your bike on a train, enjoy a shared drive or just meet us at the train station in Aldershot (near Hamilton).

Enjoy a ‘100-mile’ picnic, a bonus Paris, Ontario tour and luxurious accommodation.

Smell all the smells and hear all the sounds you miss on a tour bus!

The rail trail takes us through beautiful scenery and we always have time to stop to take a photograph.

Brantford Trail Trail

2 Day Tour up the Niagara Escarpment including overnight accommodation, breakfast and a picnic on the way up.

Join touring specialist Allan Stokell for a fun-filled 2 days to the Grand River region. Rail trails are great because trains don’t like hills, so the grade is quite manageable, even for beginning tourers. Don’t be surprised to see wildlife such as white tailed deer.

We meet at the train station in Aldershot with our bikes and tour along quiet streets and bike lanes to Hamilton where we tour through the campus of McMaster University before joining the rail trail.

We will enjoy a homemade picnic lunch along the way and arrive in Brantford in the early afternoon.

The rest of the day is free time. Spend your evening looking around town, shopping or visiting the Alexander Graham Bell Homestead, or one of the many theatres or galleries or enjoying a meal in one of the many fine restaurants. If you prefer, our guide will take you along the off-road path that leads to Paris, Ontario for a late afternoon ride. The next morning we enjoy a breakfast together and head back to the train station.

This tour is for 19 years+ clients. Tour size: 8 people maximum  

The tour includes:

• The tour as described above
• The services of a knowledgeable guide
• Accommodation, food and beverages as described
• Water while touring
• A souvenir tour booklet and map

You will provide:

• A  bicycle with bell or horn and rear rack
  (we can help with a rental if you don’t have a bike)
• A helmet to be worn while cycling
• Panniers or saddle bags (we can rent them to you)

• Health insurance (for foreign visitors)
