Toronto Beer Tours
3 Hour Saturday Afternoon Bicycle Tour City of Toronto’s old breweries 30kms with bonus tutored beer tasting
When beer just came in barrels, and transportation was by horse, citizens couldn’t and wouldn’t travel very far for a draught of ale. The old Town of York, the former British colony that now sits in downtown area of Toronto east of Yonge street, was full of breweries. Add to that, before water was safe, most people would drink beer to avoid the ailments brought on by bad water including cholera.
Helmets are required for this tour. The tour coordinator reserves the right to refuse any one not compliant with tour rules. This is an easy tour but cyclists must be confident enough to ride on city streets.
We'll meet at Church St/Davenport Rd and Yonge St (just north of Bloor) on the south east corner at 1:00 pm. Bring your bike on the GO train or subway or bike to the starting point. We'll bike along mostly quiet streets on bike lanes and bike paths through Toronto's downtown neighbourhoods. Depending on the weather and speed of the participants we could include the following locations in the trip:
Toronto’s First Brewery, Doel Homestead Brewery, Toronto Brewing and Malting, O’Keefe Brewery (Victoria Street), Severen’s Yorkville Brewery, Bloor’s Brewery, Helliwell’s Don Valley Brewery, Reinharts Brewery, Davies Brewing, Dominion Brewery, Copelands East Toronto Brewery, Enoch Turner’s Brewery,
Tour includes services of a professional guide, a tour map and guide, bottled water and a tutored beer tasting* upon completion of the tour.
This tour is for 19 years+ clients. Tour size: 8 people max

You will provide:
- A bicycle with bell or horn
(we can help with a rental if you don’t have a bike) - A helmet to be worn while cycling

*A tutored tasting is sampling of a variety of beer styles and products under the supervision of a knowledgeable beer connoisseur.
We partner with bike rental businesses downtown to arrange bikes for our clients.
You may want to rent the bike for several days after the tour so you can go back and explore all of what Toronto has to offer.
